SynTrac inspires at TU Braunschweig’s CampusXperience 2025
From June 20 to 22, 2025, the Technical University of Braunschweig opened its doors to the first CampusXperience – and SynTrac was there! Under the motto Explore. Celebrate. Play., more than 7,000 visitors were able to experience the university up close – with exciting insights into research, teaching and campus life.
On Saturday, SynTrac presented itself as part of the Campus Expeditions with an interactive offer: Interested parties had the opportunity to take a look behind the scenes and get to know the project in direct exchange with those involved.
The SynTrac team presented the importance of the project for necessary progress in the sustainability of aviation and invited visitors to gain their own impression. In the interactive simulation of the SynTrac Science Lab, participants were able to use a rowing ergometer to symbolically lift a passenger plane into the air.
This physically tangible action made it clear how much energy (extrapolated) is currently required to take off and fly a commercial airliner. Visitors were then able to repeat the same experiment with the SynTrac concept aircraft – a vision for particularly efficient, highly integrated flight systems of the future.
The noticeably lower power consumption impressively illustrated the potential of the SynTrac approach to significantly reduce energy consumption and environmental impact in aviation.

With guided tours through laboratories, show experiments and themed hands-on activities, the day also impressively demonstrated the contribution that research networks such as SynTrac make to cutting-edge research at TU Braunschweig and how university research is contributing to tackling socially relevant issues such as climate change.
There was also plenty for young and old to discover: In addition to the Campus Expeditions, the Science Field delighted visitors with hands-on stations, workshops and exhibitions. The Summervibes Festival with live music, a family program and a summer festival atmosphere on Campus North was the grand finale.
